Coal India Management Trainee Syllabus

The main function of the CIL company is to extract coal from the Ground. This company was established in 1975. The compy has several mines from where it extracts coal. The company has more than 3 lakh employees. It is a MAHARATNA COMPANY. This company attends the status of Maharatna company on 11th April 2011. There are many subsidiaries of this company, which you should know about because there are many vacancies in them also. It’s subsidiaries are –
  • Eastern Coal Fields Limited ( ECL )
  • Bharat Coking Coal Limited ( ECCL )
  • Central Coal Fields Limited ( CCL )
  • Western Coal Fields Limited ( WCL )
  • South Eastern Coal Fields Limited ( SECL )
  • Northern Coal Fields Limited ( NCL )
  • Mahanadi Coal Fields Limited. ( MCL )

There are different types of posts in this Company. Like Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical ( Coal preparation ), Electronics and Telecommunications, Material Management, Sale and Marketing, Personal/ HR. Most of the Vacancies comes on the basis of Trainee.

CIL Management Trainee Exam Pattern

Now we will talk about Coal India Limited Management Trainee Examination Patterns. This exam is conducted in two stages. The two stages are given below –

  • The first phase of the examination is Written Exam.
  • The second phase of the Examination is Personal Interview round.

We will talk about these two stages in details-

The first stage is of Written Exam and it consists of two papers. The First paper is of General Knowledge and Awareness ( which consists of General English, Numerical Ability, Ideas, Reasoning, etc ) and the second paper is of Professional Knowledge ( which will consist of Deep Knowledge about your main subject or Professional subject, Disciplines based). Both the paper has Objective Types Questions or Multichoice Questions i.e. ( MCQ ). This examination is conducted on Online Mode. Both the papers consist of 100 maximum marks each. The number of Questions in paper 1 is 100 which is the same number of questions in the second paper.

Each question is of 1 mark each. If we combined the total number of both the papers then the candidates have to attempt 200 marks in Written. The time period which the candidates will get for solving paper 1 is One and a half hours and the same amount of time they will get for their Second paper. No negative marking scheme is there in the Written Examination in both the papers. The cut-off criteria for last year are set according to some categories of our society which are given below-

The candidates have to clear this stage after that only they are eligible or apply for the next, which is Personal Interview round.

In the Personal Interview Round, the candidates will ask many questions related to their Professional Subjects like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc. They can also be asked about situation based Questions. The persons who will take the Interview will be Higher Rank Holders officers.

The syllabus of the Civil Branch is – Engineering Mechanics, Elements of Structural Analysis, Strength of Materials, Surveying, Elements of Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering Materials, Reinforced concrete Structures, Bridge Superstructure, Fluid mechanics, Steel Structures, Design of Structures, Engineering of Bridge, Transportation Engineering, Bridge Architecture, Hydrology, etc.

CIL Syllabus of Electronics and Telecommunications Branch –

The syllabus of Electronics and Telecommunications is Basics of Circuits and Measurement Systems, Analog Electronics, Transducers, Mechanical Measurement and Industrial Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Digital Electronics, Control Systems, and Process Control, Analytical and Optical Instrumentation, Signals, Systems, and Communications.

The syllabus of Electrical Branch is – Electromagnetic Theory, Analogue and Digital Electronics, Electrical Instrumentation, Control Systems, Utilisation of Electrical Energy, Power Systems Protection, Network Analysis, Power Systems, Power Systems Analysis and Control, Electrical Machines, Switchgear and Protection, Power Electronics and Drives, etc.

The syllabus of Mechanical Branch is -Industry Safety, Energy Conservation, In Engineering Mechanics, Management Information System, Engineering Materials, The Strength of Materials, Metal Casting, Inventory Control, Production Planning, and Control, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Design, etc

The syllabus of Computer Science Branch is – Computer Networks, Web Technologies, Algorithms, Programming and Data Strut, Computer Networks, Computer Organisation, and Architecture, Databases, Operating System, Digital Logic, Information Systems, and Software Engineering, etc.
