RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern
All the details and marks distribution of the Prelims exam are given below.
- There are a total of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
- There is no sectional timing in this exam.
- The Prelims is an objective-type exam.
- One-fourth of the marks i.e. 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. However, there is no negative marking for the unattempted questions.
- The exam is bilingual i.e. the questions are available in Hindi and English (except for the English section).

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for RBI Assistant Mains is different as it has 5 sections. The details of the same are given below.
- There are 200 questions to be answered in a total of 135 minutes.
- This exam has a sectional timing and the candidates have to finish one section before moving on to the next.
- The questions will be objective in nature.
- The paper is bilingual (Hindi and English) except for the questions from English Language.
- This too has a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
- The marks scored in the Mains exam is considered while making the Merit List.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
After clearing the Main examination, candidates will have to take a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The test will be conducted in the official/ local language of the state concerned.
