July 1 Goods & Services Tax Day The second anniversary of Good & Services Tax (GST) will be celebrated with Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Anurag Thakur presiding over the event. GST was launched on the 1st July, 2017 in a majestic ceremony held in the Central Hall of Parliament on the midnight of 30th June, 2017. Hence, the Government alongwith partners from the trade and industry is celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of GST on 1st July 2019.
July 1 The National Doctors Day He National Doctors Day was created to accommodate the services of doctors and individuals for the community. The First Doctor’s Day was celebrated in India in the year 1991. July 1 happens to be the birth and death anniversary of the most famous physician of India – Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. It is hence a tribute to his contributions to the health domain in the country.
July 2 World UFO Day The term ‘UFO’ for Unidentified Flying Object was coined by US Air Force officer Edward Ruppelt. World UFO Day was organized by WorldUFODay.com in 2001, and was put together to bring together enthusiasts of UFO’s and the evidence they’ve all gathered to support their existence.
July 11 World Population Day World Population Day, which seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, was established by the then-Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. This year’s World Population Day calls for global attention to the unfinished business of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development.
July 17 World Day For International Justice World Day for International Justice recognizes the nascent and strengthening system of international justice that has emerged since the Nuremburg and Tokyo Trials after World War II. July 17th was chosen as the day to mark this occasion because it is the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute, the treaty that created the ICC. The ICC is the first permanent and independent international judicial institution capable of trying individuals accused of the most serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights law, including the crimes of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
July 18 Nelson Mandela International Day Nelson Mandela International Day, also known as Mandela Day, is held on July 18 each year. The day remembers Mandela’s achievements in working towards conflict resolution, democracy, human rights, peace, and reconciliation.
July 18 World Listening Day World Listening Day is an annual global event that was started in 2010 by the World Listening Project. July 18th is the birth date of renowned Canadian composer, music educator, and author, R. Murray Schafer. His World Soundscape Project developed the fundamental ideas and practices of acoustic ecology in the 1970s. These inform the current, burgeoning interest in our changing acoustic environment. Thus, World Listening Day honors Schafer’s contribution to understanding our world.
July 20 International Chess Day The International Chess Day is celebrated annually on July 20, the day the International Chess Federation (FIDE) was founded, in 1924. The idea to celebrate this day as the international chess day was proposed by UNESCO, and it has been celebrated as such since 1966, after it was established by FIDE.
July 23 National Broadcasting day On this day in 1927, the first ever radio broadcast in the country went on the air from the Bombay Station under a private company, the Indian Broadcasting Company. On 8th of June, 1936, the Indian State Broadcasting Service became All India Radio.

July 26 Kargil Vijay Diwas The 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas is being celebrated on July 26. The day is named after the successful Operation Vijay in 1999. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days and ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory. The central theme of this year’s celebrations is ‘Remember, Rejoice and Renew’.
July 28 World hepatitis day World Hepatitis Day is observed on 28 July. The date of 28 July was chosen because it is the birthday of Nobel-prize winning scientist Dr Baruch Blumberg, who discovered hepatitis B virus (HBV) and developed a diagnostic test and vaccine for the virus.

July 29 Global Tiger Day Global Tiger Day, takes place annually on July 29. It is a day to celebrate tigers, to raise awareness for the need for their preservation, and to promote the protection and expansion of their habitats. The day was designated in the St.Petersburg Declaration on Tiger Conservation, which was released on November 23, 2010, during the Global Tiger Summit.
July 30 International Day of Friendship The International Day of Friendship is an initiative that follows on the proposal made by UNESCO and taken up by the UN General Assembly in 1997 (A/RES/52/13). The International Day of Friendship is also based on the recognition of the relevance and importance of friendship as a noble and valuable sentiment in the lives of human beings around the world.
July 31 World Ranger Day World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.
