JAIIB Exam Pattern
The revised JAIIB exam pattern, introduced in May 2024, features four papers, two of which are newly added:
Indian Economy and Indian Financial System (IEIFS):
- This paper is divided into two parts – Indian Economy (Modules A and B) and Indian Financial System (Modules C and D).
- It evaluates your understanding of the fundamentals of the Indian Economy and the Indian Financial System, encompassing theories, practices, and regulations.
- The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed within a 2-hour time frame.
Principles and Practices of Banking (PPB):
- This paper assesses your knowledge of banking principles, practices, and regulations through 100 MCQs.
- You have 2 hours to complete this section.
Accounting and Financial Management for Bankers (AFM):
- This paper tests your comprehension of accounting principles, financial statements, financial concepts related to banking, and cost accounting.
- It comprises 100 MCQs with a 2-hour time limit.
Retail Banking and Wealth Management (LRB):
- This paper evaluates your knowledge and understanding of fundamental principles, strategies, and best practices in retail banking and wealth management.
- Topics covered include customer-centric banking services, investment advisory, financial planning, and risk assessment.
- You’ll need to answer 100 MCQs within 2 hours.
Note: For each correct answer, you earn one mark, and there is no penalty for incorrect responses. To pass each paper, you need to score at least 50 out of 100.

Q. Which is the toughest paper in JAIIB?
Ans: Which paper is considered to be the toughest in JAIIB? For bankers, accounting and finance are considered the toughest paper in the JAIIB exam. If the candidates can score good marks in this paper, they generally clear the JAIIB Exam; otherwise, they will have to reappear after six months.
Q. How to clear JAIIB in one attempt?
Ans: Passing marks for JAIIB are 50% aggregate and 45% in each subject. If aggregate marks are less than 50% or marks in a particular paper are less than 45% but you score 50% or more in any subject, you do not qualify the exam but you need not give that particular paper in next attempt, in which you score 50% or more.
