RBI Assistant Selection Process

The RBI Assistant 2023 selection process involves three stages:

  1. RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam: This is the first step, and candidates must pass it to proceed further.
  2. RBI Assistant Mains Exam: After clearing the preliminary exam, candidates move on to the mains exam. It includes sections on English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Additionally, there’s a General Awareness and Computer Knowledge section in the mains exam.
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): This test ensures candidates have the required language skills.

For both the preliminary and mains exams, you need to do well in English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. To progress, you must meet the sectional and overall cutoff scores for each phase of the exam.

Here are the key points about the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam:

  • The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam consists for three sections: English language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.
  • The exam consists of total of 100 questions
  • Total duration of RBI Assistant 2023 Prelims Exam is 60 minutes to complete the exam, with 20 minutes allocated for each section.
  • If you answer a question incorrectly, 0.25 marks will be deducted as a penalty, but there is no penalty for leaving a question unanswered.
  • All the questions in the exam are of the multiple-choice (Objective) type.
  • You can choose to answer questions in either English or Hindi for all sections except the English Language section.
  • It’s important to note that the marks obtained in the Prelims Exam do not count towards the final ranking, as the Prelims is a qualifying round.

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2023

Here are the key points about the RBI Assistant Mains Exam:

  • The Mains Exam consists of 200 questions divided into five sections: English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability.
  • You’ll have a total of 135 minutes to complete the entire exam. There are specific time limits for each section, which are mentioned separately.
  • If you answer a question incorrectly, you’ll lose 0.25 marks as a penalty, but there is no penalty for leaving a question unanswered.
  • All the questions in the Mains Exam are of the multiple-choice (Objective) type.
  • For all sections except the English Language, you can choose to answer questions in either English or Hindi.
  • Importantly, the marks you obtain in the Mains Exam will be counted when preparing the final merit list. Candidates who pass the Mains Exam will also be invited for a Language Proficiency Test.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) 2023

The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below. The candidate who is not proficient in the official/ Local Language will be disqualified.

Only such a number of candidates will be called for the Language Proficiency Test who stand sufficiently high in merit based on the aggregate marks of the main online examination, Such merit will be decided by the Bank in relation to the number of notified vacancies to be filled in.
